Well, it’s been a while but now BEE season is upon us! Actually, it’s already begun and I have much to update since my last post.

My new business, True-Bizz Hive is open and operational! It’s been such a fantastic blessing to see the community gather for this community center for Signers. My attention has not shifted from bees at all, just been also focused on my new endeavor. I've been a bizzy bee again!

I attended the Beekeeping Apprenticeship class last month and it was very exciting. There was a whole lot of information and I remember thinking how glad I was that I had done my own studying prior or else I’d be overwhelmed.
Well, after I came back from lunch a bunch of information was introduced that I didn’t know and indeed, I felt overwhelmed. To be honest, I started reeling. The physical and financial responsibilities to beekeeping also started to overtake my mind and I left the class early. Beekeeping is an expensive hobby, especially when just starting out. I’m just starting my business so we’re still on 1 income, don’t exactly have the extra for bees. ☹
I called my dear mother in tears and she assured me that indeed….the bees will be there next year. She’s right.
So, after much thought and a heavy heart,
I decided to wait another year before getting my own bees.
I first called Tracy, worried that I’d disappoint her, and instead she was incredibly gracious and understanding. She said that he respects me for knowing my situation and making the responsible choice.
I cancelled my bee order from Got 2 Bee and Don was fantastic about it- found a win-win-win situation. He seems like such a cool guy.

So what am I going to do this summer?
· continue in the beekeeping class
· study on my own
· jump into Tracy’s hives at least once
· pick Ted’s brain and help him in his bee yard if I can
· help Lacy if her bees survived winter
· beg to join anyone who’ll let me do their hive inspections,
· ask Mike if I can tagalong at least 1 swarm catching,
· go to Farmer’s Markets and collect 1 jar of honey from each local beekeeper
· attend the Inland Empire Bee Association meetings
· collect equipment for next year
· prepare my bee yard
· read at least 3 books relating to honeybees/beekeeping
and most importantly,
· Watch the girls forage from my backyard trees when in bloom
So there will be many more blog posts to come, just not with my own bees this year. What are you all most interested in me sharing?
